Literature Text

Light is that which we find within ourselves.
The memories of those warm winter nights
With dreams of wonders to come, when one delves
Close enough to feel the glow of the lights.
Sitting under the ever turning orb,
I am in awe of the darkness to come.
Revolving faster than I can absorb,
Dancing a dance of lights, too great the sum
To count all the uncharted galaxies,
Forever entwining their star-shot arms
In a graceful embrace, mirrored by seas
In whose depths shine a reflection that’s warm.
In those black abysses, eternal night
Reigns; There is none of that which we call light.
This is a sonnet that I though we had to write for english class, but it turns out we didn't. This sonnet was picked to be read in front of the entire school. I was terrified, but I think I did okay.
